Global Warming Unabated
I’ve had enough of reporting on the war in Ukraine known as the Russian Special Military Operation. Ukraine, contrary to Disneyland’s constant lying about Russia being soundly thrashed, in all respects is losing, badly. It’s time to accept the loss and diplomatically reach a peace agreement. Besides all the weapons that get used and buildings reduced to rubble just add to the overall warming of Earth. Global warming is not going away.
So here it is. Parts of Earth are now too hot to survive. Birds have dropped dead from the sky here in New Mexico. Birds are dropping dead from the skies in Pakistan & India. People are dying from the heat. Last year saw Canadians and Americans die in the far Northwestern part of North America during an extreme heat wave. Other parts of the planet have seen people dying from heat waves and just about every one has been in this century. Here’s a recent report about India and Pakistan. \/

The biggest problem is that there is no solution. The increasingly devastating consequences of an overpopulated industrial civilization is that it is now irreversible. It can be mitigated. People can quit having so many babies. Yes, overpopulation drives all other catastrophes. The number one thing anyone can do to help save the climate and environmental collapse is to not have a kid. Everything else one might can do to help matters pales in comparison to having another mouth to feed for an average of about 78 years. Electric cars, solar, wind, even living as simple as possible, doesn’t add up to what another child can do in the long run. Or, if you must, have one kid per two adults. We do need a few so humans don’t die out altogether.
Overshoot
This is just some food for thought for the future of humankind. We were in a severe overshoot position back in ‘73 when I made a firm decision to never have kids, I was 19. I still consider this the best decision I ever made as an adult. Starting to smoke cigarettes was by far, my worst. Technically I was still a kid at 17 when I started. We could smoke at high school. We had a smoking wall. I had a few college classes that we could smoke in! We could smoke in movie theaters back then as well. I digress….
Therefore before any other plan can be implemented for saving humankind the severe overpopulation problem must be solved and that means a serious reduction of the almost 8 billion people now on Earth—7.89 billion as I write. A net addition of one person every 31 seconds. This is exponential growth. And it has to be solved for long term survival.

Fire
New Mexico’s fires were in Disneyland’s news for a brief time. Rigged elections, war, mass shootings have now relegated NM’s fires to the back burner. However the biggest fire that started at the first few days of April is still burning here in the end of May. It has grown into the biggest fire in NM’s history. It has burned buildings down and killed livestock. Countless numbers of wildlife has been burned alive in these massive fires. Some fires have come and gone during the biggest burn. It’s heartbreaking, to say the least. A few days ago the air here in Albuquerque was somewhat smokey. I had to double down on an inhaler to get through the day without choking.
Here’s a report from today on the largest fire. It was two separate ones that grew together. Here’s the kicker. It was intentionally started as a “controlled” burn. They forgot to watch the weather forecast before burning. Here’s another kicker, this isn’t the first time that this has happened. My small suggestion: don’t do ‘controlled’ burns in the spring and watch the TV weather before starting a fire. We always have fire reports here on TV in New Mexico. Pay the fuck attention for a change. link\/

The fires here and elsewhere, like in California, are mostly due to drought. As Earth heats up from industrial activity parts of the landmass dries out. Other parts are more susceptible to flooding. Cyclonic storms, like hurricanes & tornadoes, can become more intense and furious in destruction due to increasing instability in hotter, moister, air masses. There has already been several devastating typhoons in the Pacific this year. All of this points to troubles ahead.
Imperialism
My burning question: with industrial civilization on the brink of collapse why do the imperialist assholes continue to ignore all the data from the scientists and carry on with the destructive pursuit of ideologies that are toxic to life here on Earth? Are they so drunk on power that they can delude themselves into believing what they do won’t have future consequences? This will have to be resolved to survive. These questions are somewhat rhetorical. ‘They’ are too stupid to realize that what they do is toxic and nihilistic.
Decision Time
It’s time for some hard, fast decisions. How bad will it have to get before people realize that what they are doing is toxic? Maybe never. It may be why aliens are so few and far between. Species don’t make it past industrial civilization. Then the few that do avoid getting too close because nukes can’t be deflected. They see humans as a destructive child that needs to stay separated from the other sandboxes of peaceful beings. This is speculation but plausible.
I suggest for everyone to find their own way that won’t be destructive in the long term. Be kind. Desire peace. Work together. Capitalism sets up needless competition. It sets up imperialism. It is toxic. It needs to end. Stay safe.
